Valdes: I bought new boots for Ansu Fati because his old ones were a disaster

Victor Valdes has expressed that he wasn't amazed to see Ansu Fati perform so well on his senior Barcelona debut at the Camp Nou.
Valdes, who mentors Fati for the Juvenil A side, was talking in front of his group's match at the Estadi Johan Cruyff against Ajax and he shared a story about the time he helped purchase the rising star new boots.

"I guided him to present to me his boots and they were a finished calamity, they were causing him torment," Valdes said at a question and answer session on Monday.

"No one got him new boots, so I did.

"We went to get some new ones."

Just as sharing this account, Valdes proceeded to portray Fati as a player.

"He's solid, speedy and self-assured," he said.

"You need to give this sort of ability opportunity so he streams.

"I'm so cheerful for him, he called me today and it made me exceptionally energized.

"I'm grateful to [Ernesto] Valverde for allowing him a few minutes.

"His presentation didn't amaze me."

The Juvenil A mentor and previous Barcelona goalkeeper was additionally asked what guidance he'd provide for Fati.

"That he remembers where he originates from," Valdes reacted.

"He speaks to diligent work.

"He was fortunate enough to arrive at his objective, similar to others have done.

"Regardless of whether he contacts greatness or not, it's another story.

"He has the spirit of a first class player and he's a predator in the case."
